Overview

Agriculture is the backbone of rural India. Yet, unpredictable rainfall, soil degradation, and lack of technology threaten farmers’ income stability.

The Agriculture Progress & Climate Resilience Study focuses on collecting real-time agricultural data and promoting sustainable, climate-resilient farming techniques.

Key Activities

  • Soil health testing and mapping
  • Monitoring irrigation and rainfall patterns
  • Surveying access to fertilizers, seeds, and markets
  • Promoting organic farming and crop diversification
  • Conducting workshops on climate-smart agriculture (CSA)

Technology Use

Using GIS and mobile apps, data from farms is analyzed to generate crop advisories. Collaboration with KrishiVigyanKendras (KVKs) ensures scientific support for farmers.

Expected Outcomes

  • Improved crop productivity through modern techniques
  • Enhanced farmer income and reduced vulnerability
  • Promotion of sustainable agriculture aligned with climate goals
  • Creation of a digital agriculture database for policy formulation
