Overview

This flagship project forms the foundation of all GraminDarpan initiatives. The Village Welfare & Development Survey is a large-scale, door-to-door data collection mission that covers every household in selected villages across India.

Our trained enumerators use mobile-based survey tools to gather authentic socio-economic data which is then analyzed to design rural development strategies and assist local administrations in evidence-based decision-making.

Key Focus Areas

  • Household income, employment status, and skill level
  • Access to education, health, and sanitation
  • Housing and social security coverage
  • Agricultural productivity and irrigation patterns
  • Availability of public services and infrastructure

Implementation Model

Each district under the project is divided into blocks, each having a trained field team led by a Block Coordinator. Enumerators are equipped with GPS-enabled devices to ensure location accuracy. Data is uploaded to a central server where it undergoes verification and cross-validation.

Outcome

This project provides a village-level development index, enabling governments, NGOs, and policy-makers to identify gaps and design targeted welfare programs. It also forms the baseline for all future development planning in participating villages.
